GRASSROOTS CONFERENCE
JUNE 5-7, 2026 | ORRVILLE, OHIO
& VIA ZOOM
Hosted by EAGER (European Americans Growing, Engaging, and Reconditioning)
Join us for training to begin building racial trauma centers.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
European Americans who are ready to:
Stop performing anti‑racism and start living it.
Face the grief, fear, and isolation that come with leaving white supremacy.
Build real, accountable community with others doing the same work.
Train to help establish racial trauma centers in their regions.
WHAT THIS CONFERENCE IS
We are not offering another diversity training. We are building a container where European Americans can safely step out of white supremacy culture—and stay out. This is hands‑on training for those who will go on to help create racial trauma centers in their own communities.
Over three days, you will be led through shared experiences using breath, rhythm, and movement that naturally open the door to shared vulnerability. You will work in small groups based on where you live, so the connections you make can continue long after the training ends.
Can’t attend in person? We offer a full virtual track for those unable to travel due to health, distance, caregiving, or other reasons. Virtual participants receive live streaming, breakout rooms for small‑group work, and downloadable materials. You will not be left out of the healing.
From this foundation, we build a shared language and understanding around:
Personal and collective healing – grieving what has been lost to white supremacy.
Reconnection – through somatic work and ancestral work.
Nonviolent communication – and how to disagree in ways that deepen understanding.
Historical truth – the throughlines that show how we got here.
What comes next – applying what has worked in past activist movements to today.
SKILLS YOU WILL DEVELOP
This is an experiential training. You will leave with practical tools to use in your daily life, your community, and the work of building racial trauma centers:
Connect with your body – somatic practices to regulate your nervous system.
Connect with your ancestors – ritual and ceremony that ground you in legacy.
Recognize clean pain vs. dirty pain – based on Resmaa Menakem’s My Grandmother’s Hands.
Heal, personally and collectively – moving beyond guilt into accountability.
Listen deeply – to yourself, to others, and to what is not being said.
Communicate effectively – using NVC and Kristianna Smith’s model for productive conflict.
Welcome yourself and others into the work – building on strengths, not shame.
Loosen the grip on your identity – so you can change your mind as you learn.
Grieve, express sorrow and rage – grief as the flip side of anger over what white supremacy has stolen.
Work together – applying successful strategies from past movements to today’s crises.
Create ritual and ceremony – personally and collectively, to sustain the work.
100 in‑person attendees – small enough for intimacy, large enough for momentum.
Unlimited virtual attendees – fully integrated into the training.
